Watford boss Cleverley lauded for 'fantastic job' by Ryan Lowe

Watford decided to part ways with Valerien Ismael in March and eyebrows were raised when Cleverley was named as their interim boss until the end of the season. He had been working in a role with the club’s academy. Since then, the Hornets have picked up three good results. They beat Birmingham City in Cleverley’s first game in the dugout before 2-2 draws with both West Brom and Leeds United. Watford sit 14th in the Championship table with six games remaining. They won’t be pushing for the play-offs or fighting for safety, so the pressure is off while they look to end a tough campaign on a positive note. Up next for Cleverley and co is Preston North End, who are five points off the top six. Now, Lilywhites boss Ryan Lowe has issued praise for Cleverley. As quoted by the Preston media team, he said the 34-year-old has done a ‘fantastic job’ to date, saying: “He’s done a fantastic job. We want to nullify their strengths and pick up some points.” Championship Preston North End Ryan Lowe Tom Cleverley Watford
