Hate to say I told you so: Bayern Munich legend Karl-Heinz Rummenigge never had a doubt about Harry Kane

Bayern Munich legend Karl-Heinz Rummenigge was part of the transfer task squad last summer and the group’s biggest catch during the summer transfer window was former Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.
For Rummenigge, there was never a doubt that Kane would be a perfect fit at Bayern Munich.
“I was certain from the start that he would be a good fit. What impresses me most about Harry is that he is a team player. He runs every meter, he doesn’t see himself above running. And that also pushes the others. The goals are just part of his quality,” Rummenigge told Deutschen Presse-Agentur (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
“We are very happy with Harry. And we were convinced from the start that we needed this type of player in order to be well equipped in this position again. Unfortunately, the other players were unable to compensate for the 40 to 50 competitive goals that Robert Lewandowski had guaranteed us. It was probably love at first sight with Harry and the Bundesliga.”
It is true that the club did not have a legitimate threat after Lewandowski left for FC Barcelona, but Kane has solved that problem. As crazy as it seems given his first half numbers (25 goals and eight goals in 22 games across all competitions), the best still might be yet to come for Kane this season.
But...can Kane get to the Polish Hitman’s Bundesliga goal-scoring record of 41? He currently sits with 21 and Rummenigge does not want to apply any unnecessary pressure just yet.
“I think it’s still too early to speculate about the season’s best marks,” said Rummenigge. “He’s a leader, no doubt about that, and he wants to be that way. It doesn’t bother him. He likes to lead the way, that’s how he is, he would never think of complaining about it.”
