Player ratings: Bayern Munich 2-0 FC Köln

Bayern Munich took a tidy 2-0 win from its match with FC Köln on Saturday in a contest that was anything but tidy from a Bavarian standpoint.
A head coach missing due to suspension, everyone’s mind seemingly on the Champions League tie vs. Arsenal FC coming up in the midweek, a bevy of Bayern shots clattering off the post before the breakthrough...and of course the traditional late game scares.
Dropping points would hardly have mattered this time — Leverkusen is all but confirmed as this year’s German champions — but it was not the clinical touch nor defensive solidity Bayern wanted to see before its face-off vs. the Gunners.
Rotation set in with Mathys Tel, Thomas Müller, and Noussair Mazraoui all starting, but it is hard to say if any of the three truly recommended themselves for Wednesday. Raphaël Guerreiro, in central midfield rather than left-back, scored the first goal with a gorgeous curling hit off a Joshua Kimmich corner, and may have shown more than Mazraoui did as the two compete for a left-back spot to be vacated by the suspended Alphonso Davies against Arsenal.
