Bayern Munich’s Thomas Müller not thrilled with performance vs. Union Berlin

After scoring two goals during Bayern Munich’s 5-1 victory over Union Berlin. some might have expected Thomas Müller to be feeling really good about his performance.
Instead, the veteran was looking at other parts of his game (passing accuracy, decision-making) that could have been better.
“It wasn’t that easy for me in the game today. I wasn’t that happy with [my] game today. He [Tuchel] said the goals were of course great, but unfortunately he also watched the rest of the game. Then we both laughed,” Müller told Sportbuzzer (via @iMiaSanMia).
Tuchel did, indeed, concur.
“The form today wasn’t good. The goals were absolutely great, but the form wasn’t good,” Tuchel said.
When asked if performance was good enough to get a start in the Champions League against Real Madrid, Tuchel did not waver.
“Nope. He knows that too. He still has to earn it. He also saw the game the same way,” said Tuchel. Looking for a more in-depth review of the game? Then check out our post-game podcast! Cyler breaks down a fantastic win but one where Union Berlin still managed to show some of its strengths — and Bayern’s weaknesses. Listen to it below or on Spotify.
