"It offends me deeply as a coach!" A livid Thomas Tuchel slams Uli Hoeneß for ill-timed comments ahead of Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid

Thomas Tuchel is not a happy man.
Following comments made by Uli Hoeneß on German TV, the Bayern Munich coach had a strong retort for the man who is, for all intents and purposes, technically still his boss.
“That’s so far from reality,” said Tuchel (Sky Sports via @iMiaSanMia). “I don’t even know how to answer it. I’m injured in my coaching honour. If we have proven something over the past 15 years, it is that players from the academy always have a place with us if they perform well. I have little understanding of it [Uli’s statement]. I think it’s absolutely baseless.”
When asked if he would speak to Uli in order to set the record straight, Tuchel was adamant.
“No. This is actually so far away from reality that I wouldn’t have reacted to it at all if it hadn’t come from Uli. The fact that it comes from our boss four days before the game against Real gives it a different flavor. It offends me deeply as a coach. We’ve proven it [developing young players] many times. But let’s get over it. We’ve talked about it too much already.”
Unfortunately, the media won’t see it that way. Whatever happens, you can assume the bridges between Bayern Munich and Thomas Tuchel have been burned beyond repair.
