Looking Around the League: Bochum Slip into the Relegation Zone

With the extra Champions League spot all but guaranteed, we are running out of exciting races in the Bundesliga this season, especially at the top of the table. The title race is over, the five Champions League spots mean that the race for fourth is no longer particularly relevant, and Eintracht Frankfurt have sixth place and a Europa League spot all but cleared up.
This leaves a second Europa League spot and a Conference League spot. If Bayer Leverkusen win the DFB-Pokal, seventh place would qualify for the second Europa League spot, and eighth place would qualify for the Conference League. Freiburg and Augsburg occupy those spots right now, but Hoffenheim’s late winner at the weekend, on top of both teams above them dropping points, puts them in the running as well.

There is still some room for a little drama before the end of this Bundesliga season! Here’s how Matchday 30 played out over the weekend.
Results
Eintracht Frankfurt 3-1 Augsburg
Heidenheim 1-2 RB Leipzig
FC Köln 0-2 SV Darmstadt
Hoffenheim 4-3 Borussia Mönchengladbach
Wolfsburg 1-0 VfL Bochum
Union Berlin 1-5 Bayern Munich
Werder Bremen 2-1 VfB Stuttgart
Borussia Dortmund 1-1 Bayer Leverkusen
Freiburg 1-1 Mainz
Standings Mainz Climb Out of the Relegation Zone!
Mainz have been on a bit of a tear recently, and as a result, they are no longer in the relegation zone after a massive point against Freiburg.

With just four games left in the season, Mainz will face Köln at the weekend, followed by Borussia Dortmund, Heidenheim, and Wolfsburg. I don’t think they will be safe until the season is over, but I think their current form and favorable schedule means Mainz will not slip back into the promotion/relegation playoff spot.
Meanwhile, Mainz’s form has dragged Bochum and Union Berlin into the mix, and I suspect Wolfsburg and Borussia Mönchengladbach fans will still be sweating a little too. Given the quality of the teams in the relegation race and their remaining schedules, I think Bochum will be the team that has to fight for their survival against the team that finishes third in the 2. Bundesliga, but there’s still time for another twist in this race.
Your Thoughts?
Who will take seventh and eighth and potentially qualify for the Europa League and Conference League? And who will find themselves in the promotion/relegation playoff?
