West Ham: PL club submit bid for Irons and Brentford target Habib Diallo

An unnamed Premier League club have submitted an offer for West Ham target Habib Diallo, sources have told Football Insider. The striker, 27, is a target for multiple top-tier English clubs this summer after notching 20 Ligue 1 goals for Strasbourg this season. Football Insider revealed earlier this month (15 May) that West Ham are among the Premier League sides regularly scouting Diallo ahead of a potential swoop in the summer window. Representatives from Brighton, Crystal Palace, Brentford and Fulham have also watched the Senegal international in action this season. West Ham are also keeping close tabs on the frontman with the club planning to sign a centre-forward in the forthcoming window. Football Insider revealed earlier in May that Gianluca Scamacca could return to Italy this summer just 12 months after moving to England. Meanwhile, West Ham striker Michail Antonio could pursue an exit in the search for more regular first-team football. Brentford are believed to be pushing hard to sign Diallo as they search for a replacement for the banned Ivan Toney. Toney was slapped with an eight-month ban by the FA for his gambling breaches last week – meaning he can’t play for the Bees until January 2024. The England international scored 20 Premier League goals in 33 appearances as the Londoners recorded a ninth-place finish. Diallo has scored 20 goals across 37 appearances in all competitions this term ahead of the final day of the Ligue 1 season on Saturday (3 June). His Strasbourg contract runs until June 2025. In other news, key West Ham star has played his last league match. {{#primary_category}} {{/primary_category}}
