Pundit issues Potter claim amid Moyes sack update

Former Chelsea and Brighton boss Graham Potter would be a good option to replace David Moyes at West Ham, according to Frank McAvennie. The Hammers have suffered three defeats in a row against Manchester United, Arsenal and Crystal Palace and it was the 6-0 loss against Gunners that led to questions being asked. The Telegraph reported on 14 February that Potter is among the options being considered with Moyes facing the sack should he not deliver in the upcoming games. Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, McAvennie, the former Hammers striker said: “Graham Potter did brilliant at Brighton. I can’t blame him for what happened at Chelsea. “Must be hard work giving the speech from one player to another as they’re all first-team players. That many players at Chelsea, you can’t control that. “I wouldn’t mind him [at West Ham]. He didn’t get it done at Chelsea because they were going through what they are going through now. At West Ham, there will not be as much pressure. “David’s got to do something better with his players. They’ve got to put something in.” Potter could do well at West Ham The Englishman proved he’s a quality manager with his stint at Brighton and it’s not his fault that Chelsea were in turmoil when he joined. He has been voted the Sweedish Football Awards’ Manager of the Year for two seasons in a row and also won the Swedish Sports Awards’ Coach of the Year. Potter was hugely successful at Brighton and had impressive displays v West Ham. His stints at Ostersunds and Swansea were also impressive and under the right structure at the London Stadium, he could thrive.
