Norwich close in on deal for Hamilton youngster - sources

Norwich City are closing in on a deal for Hamilton Academical youngster Gabriel Forsyth, sources have told Football Insider. Hamilton are looking set to lose another one of their young talents as Norwich close in the Scotland international but are set to earn the development fee if he does complete the move. The 16-year-old’s current contract with the Accies’ runs until 2026 but the English Championship side will be looking to steal him away this summer. The Scottish youth international has made six appearances for the Scotland Under-17s side since his debut last October (2022). During those outings he has scored one goal and provided one assist and has played a total of 312 minutes of football. Forsyth made five appearances for the first team this season for a total of 199 minutes in what has been a disappointing season for the Accies. After finishing ninth in the Scottish Championship, Hamilton faced Airdrieonians in the playoffs to remain in the league. After coming back from 1-0 down to a 2-1 victory in the second leg, the club were beaten 6-5 on penalties and suffered relegation to Scottish League One. Norwich finished their season in 13th in the English Championship after a poor end to the campaign which saw them lose four out of five games. It was the first time since the 2017-18 season that the Canaries have failed to return to the English top flight. In other news, update on Rangers signing Norwich star as £10m price tag revealed. {{#primary_category}} {{/primary_category}}
