Aaron Wan-Bissaka demands strong finish to the season

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has turned his career around under Erik ten Hag, but the work is far from finished. The right-back hopes Saturday’s 1-0 win over Bournemouth can provide a positive springboard for a productive end to the campaign. It took an amazing Casemiro strike to ensure all three points on the south coast, and now we just need one point from our remaining two matches to secure qualification for next season’s Champions League. Chelsea and Fulham both visit Old Trafford next week – before our FA Cup final showdown with Man City on 3 June. Speaking to MUTV after our win over the Cherries, Wan-Bissaka insisted that they want to complete the top four job as soon as they can – which means getting at least a draw against Chelsea on Thursday night. Wan-Bissaka said (via ManUtd.com): “We’ve still got two more games to go and you that’s the way how we want to finish,” began the right-back. “We need to finish strong and take the three points with the last two games left. “We’ve got to take every game step by step and after today, my confidence is up. We have faith in the team and we hope to do it again on Thursday.” Wan-Bissaka has had to push for his place in the team since January and he deserves his place. Diogo Dalot performed brilliantly during the first half of the season, but didn’t come back the same player after the World Cup in Qatar. In turn, Erik ten Hag has an intriguing decision to make at right-back this summer. Who stays because it’s clear someone will be coming in to improve the position.
