Man United chiefs Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sir David Brailsford were blown away by Dan Ashworth’s impact at Brighton, sources have told Football Insider. Speaking to the new edition of Football Insider’s Insider Track Podcast, transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed the pair were particularly impressed with Ashworth’s recruitment for the Seagulls. Under Ashworth’s leadership, Brighton signed top stars including Moises Caicedo, Marc Cucurella and Ben White – all of whom were sold to Premier League giants for huge fees. Ratcliffe and Brailsford are keen for Ashworth to replicate this success and bring sustainable recruitment to Old Trafford, with the current Newcastle United sporting director expected to move to the club soon.
