Breaking: Eveliina Summanen withdraws from Finland squad due to injury
Tottenham Hotspur Women confirmed that standout midfielder Eveliina Summanen has withdrawn from Finland’s squad with a hamstring injury. Instead, she’ll remain in London and begin rehab.
In Sunday’s blowout loss to Manchester City, Eveliina Summanen went down with an apparent injury, then left the field after receiving treatment from physios. We were all hoping it was precautionary–like seriously, two thirds of our starting midfield is already sidelined–but of course, we’re not that lucky.
We have no further information on the severity of the injury or the expected length of Eveliina’s recovery. If it’s a mild strain, she could hypothetically be back on the pitch on December 10th when we face Arsenal. If not, well, I don’t really want to think about that.
