Andy’s Player Ratings: West Brom 0-1 Sunderland - Ekwah goal seals all three points

Had a couple of shots right at him in the first half that he comfortably dealt with but was a spectator for most of the game.
Timothee Pembele: 7/10
Followed up his good display at Leeds with another one today, always an option on the right hand side, looked useful going forward and not troubled defensively.
Trai Hume: 7/10
A solid game but made two really important defensive contributions, stepping out after reading a pass when West Brom were attacking following a Clarke error and then winning the ball in the second half after the home side were on a dangerous break.
Dan Ballard: 7/10
Got booed every time the ball came near him but didn’t let it effect him, cruised through the game.
Luke O’Nien (C): 7/10
Made one great diving header to clear a dangerous free kick out for a corner in the first half, then made a burst up the pitch to set up an attack after the break. Like Ballard cruised through the game defensively.
Callum Styles: 7/10
Probably his best game for us, got an assist after his corner found Ekwah and got around the pitch despite playing left wing-back. Curled one effort just wide after cutting inside and combined well with Clarke.
Dan Neil: 7/10
Tested the goalkeeper with a second half effort and looked a bit more involved going forward but also protected the defence well.
Pierre Ekwah: 7/10
Scored the winner with a great first time finish into the top corner, pressed the opposition constantly and made life difficult for their midfield.
Chris Rigg: 6/10
A tidy but quiet display, some nice bits of link up play with Pembele and found Neil well on the edge of the box, so his fellow midfielder can test the goalkeeper.
Jack Clarke: 6/10
Hit the side netting late on but not at his best, made a few good runs but either made the wrong choice or was brought down. A couple of sloppy bits of play giving away possession in the first half weren’t punished.
Jobe Bellingham: 6/10
Did a job for the team up top but struggled to get into the game while we were in possession. Substitutes
Aji Alese: 6/10
Got in a couple of clearances on the rare occasion the home side attacked and a good game to help him ease back into.
Patrick Roberts: 6/10
No chance to have a real impact on the game as we looked to keep things tight to see out the win.
Abdoullah Ba: N/A
A very late substitute. Man of the Match: Pierre Ekwah
Some good performances without any real standout so my man of the match is the match winner. Also played well apart from the goal, with some quick feet getting him away from opposition players and pressed the entire game, often high up almost alongside Jobe.
