3 wingers West Brom should target as Mikey Johnston's loan nears expiry

West Brom have had to work with a limited budget for much of the season and as a loan player, Johnston was a low-cost addition in the January transfer window. His form since then has made him one of the signings of the window across all Championship clubs. On loan from Celtic, the Irishman has managed seven goals and one assist in 16 league games for the club. Image courtesy of: JASON CAIRNDUFF/REUTERS. Perhaps in an ideal world, the Baggies are able to bring Johnston back to The Hawthorns. However, as the end of his loan nears, potential replacements should be in the club’s thinking. With that said, here are three wingers West Brom should target this summer… Peterborough United have produced some top young talents over the years and rapid attacker Jones is among the current crop of prospects to have caught the eye at London Road. Be it out on the left-wing or through the middle as a striker, his sheer pace and mobility makes him a handful when attacking and while pressing the backline. He’s managed 12 goals and five assists this season and has a vast amount of senior experience at only 21. It has been reported that he’s valued at around £2m amid links with Newcastle United. A move for German winger Reese would certainly send a message to the Baggies competitors. The 26-year-old has notched a stunning 11 goals and 17 assists in 31 games for the 2. Bundesliga side. That will surely have drawn admiring glances, so competition for his signature could be strong. Nonetheless, the door could be open for a move if Hertha Berlin fail to win promotion. That should pique the interest from West Brom, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if he heads for a more established top-flight club if he does move. Last but not least is a bit of a different option in the form of out-of-contract Liverpool prospect Musialowski. He could be available for nothing this summer and a player of his potential would be more of a long-term option. The Polish youth international has been lighting up youth football with Liverpool and a step up to the senior game could await. With the right coaching and plenty of game time, the versatile Musialowski could be a fantastic pickup for an EFL club this summer if he is to leave Anfield.
